Rinsing hair with a solution of 1/4 c. vinegar and 1 qt. water can also give benefits. A mixture of the herbs chaparral or thyme works well as a hair rinse. You also need to take care of your diet to deal with dandruff effectively. At least 50 percent of your diet should be raw food. Cut down on the intake of fried food, sugar, nuts, chocolate and other dairy products. Add fish oil, primrose oil or flaxseed oil to your diet.

Your diet should also include vitamin B complex, vitamin E, selenium and zinc supplements. However, make sure that you do not exceed 100mg of zinc a day. Take vitamin C, bioflavonoid complex, lecithin granules or capsules for a positive result. Some people suffer from dandruff for a prolonged time and it becomes a hard-to-cure problem.
